Alle bedeutenden Flüsse Albaniens münden in die Adria. Der Schwarze Drin entspringt aus dem Ohridsee. Bei der nordalbanischen Stadt Kukës vereinigt er sich mit dem aus dem Kosovo kommenden Weißen Drin. Der Drin fließt dann in westlicher Richtung durch mehrere große Stauseen und mündet nach einem Lauf von 282 Kilometern bei Lezha in die Adria. Die anderen größeren albanischen Flüsse Mat, Shkumbin, Seman mit Devoll und Vjosa (in ihrer Nennung von Nord nach Süd) fließen mehr oder weniger direkt in west.
